The latest self-publishing success story comes from Debbie O'Fee, an established author who is preparing to launch her second book on her experiences as a parent of a child with autism.
The Cold Water Diaries of an Autism Mom is a diary-style account of her Long Island, New York family of four, which includes her two teenage sons, JT and Ryan. Her younger son, Ryan, was diagnosed with autism at age 3.
Debbie came to PJC by coincidence. She was trying to track her son JT on her cell phone and found our local Google Maps listing during her search. We wound up collaborating on a deep copy edit and proofread.

The book is conversational in tone with a blend of emotional introspection, parental guidance and humor. Look for it on Amazon this month.
Debbie gave PJC Editing five stars in our latest review. Here's what she had to say about working with PJC:
I'm releasing my second book; it's about my son. To save money I was going to go the "English major friend to save money" route. The more that it looked like that wasn't going to work out, I started to consider pricing professional proofreaders. Around this time my son got his driver's license; I was tracking him driving one day and the vicinity he was in showed a place nearby called "PJC Editing & Proofreading." I had not heard of it, let alone known it was located so close to my house. The next day, I called and spoke to the owner Phil and he took on my project. In Phil, I found a team member who gave my book the TLC it needed to bring it over the finish line. Yes, the grammar, punctuation and spelling were 100%, but more than that, I invited Phil in as a collaborator, and as such he is someone whose opinion I have come to trust and respect. He is also reasonably priced, prompt and a true professional.
Hire him! You won't regret it.
